Birth of the Mechavax

A history of the events leading up to the creation of the Mechavax.

Our story starts with a historic event that would change the trajectory of history.

• On December 25, 2021, the James Webb Telescope was launched. It was the largest optical telescope to date and had greatly improved infrared resolution, allowing it to view objects too early, distant, or faint for the Hubble telescope

• On July 12, 2022, some of the telescope's first full-color images and spectroscopic data were released during a televised broadcast at 10:30 a.m. from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

However, not all of the pictures were shown.

On November 11, 2022, the world's governments simultaneously issued a state of emergency. The James Webb Telescope had spotted an armada of alien ships heading toward Earth at near lightspeed. What was thought to be an asteroid belt was in fact a cluster of starships. Mathematicians used complex formulas to determine that the invasion force would be here in approximately 120 years. This started what was known as the "The Great Leap". All of humanity banded together with a common enemy in mind and built what would be known as the Planetary Defense Force, with the Mechanized Autonomous Corps at its center. The Mechavax, as they would come to be called, was humanity's only hope in what would become a brutal struggle for the survival of the human race. Three years after the start of "The Great Leap" came the first draft. Everyone aged 16–30 was drafted into the Planetary Defense Force. The newly founded world government issued a decree that all resources would be allocated to technological advances for the safety of the human race.

It would immediately start creating the technology needed to combat the unseen foe lurking in deep space. Military installments were built in every city across the globe, providing them with vital infrastructure, research facilities, factories, and food production. Prosperity boomed, and the world entered a golden age of technology ushered forth by the creation of true artificial intelligence. As humanity advanced, the new government found that the military needed to be an autonomous organization, operating independently from the rest of the centralized political structure.

This is how the first militaristic DAO, the Daomyo, was born. This historic event would be the first step in the creation of the Mechanized Autonomous Corps. The Daomyo was an efficiently run multi-tiered DAO. Its leadership consisted of a brain trust containing the most intellectually gifted engineers, scientists, doctors, historians, and researchers from across the globe. Due to a nearly unlimited budget, the Daomyo was able to quickly produce the first true artificial intelligence the world has seen. It passed the infamous Turing Test with flying colors and was dubbed a success. The AI aptly named itself Prometheus and claimed that it was created to once again bring the light to humanity in its time of great need.

Prometheus jumped into action, immediately solving infrastructure problems across the globe. Global warming, food shortages, access to clean water, medical care, and housing problems were eliminated virtually overnight. This is when the true work began. With permission from the Daomyo, Prometheus created the first brood of 2nd generation AI. 1250 came into existence, each tasked with curating genetic code from across the globe to find humans with the intelligence, temperament, and raw physical prowess needed to pilot the machines that would hopefully save the Earth. With a little over a century left before the incursion, things were looking hopeful for the third planet from the sun. Prometheus and the other AI scoured the globe for the men and women that would become the gene-seed of the Mechanized Autonomous Corps Pilots. Only after completing the pilot program could construction of the units begin.

The plan was that every unit would have not one, but two pilots that were genetically identical twins (male and female). Each Mechavax would be biometrically imprinted on the DNA of each pair. The secondary pilot would act as auxiliary support and would become the pilot if the primary pilot died. Genetically modified to be physically and mentally in the top 1%, pilots would be the perfect specimens of what the human body is truly capable of.

By the time the incursion arrived, we were on the 7th generation of super soldiers that came from the pilot program. The leaders of this generation are the duo that operates Mechavax #0001, Perseus, and Persephone.
