Lexicon of Creation
A short introduction, detailing the background of the Mechavax universe.
The Creator always was and always will be. When existence itself was but a mere thought, the Creator decided to shape others that would keep them company. They gave life to a pantheon consisting of twelve different aspects of themselves that would serve to fill up their existence. This pantheon of gods and demigods would live in a world where they could play for all eternity.
To keep things interesting, the Creator divided them between the aspects of light and void magic, which were used in their creation. Those imbued with light coalesced their magic into hopium, the very essence of positivity. Their counterparts, on the other hand, were wrought with dumak, a twisted negative force that seemed to have a will of its own. The fundamental differences in their makeup instantly caused animosity between the two groups. From then on, whenever the light would become a driving force for good, the void would rise up to oppose it.
The void-tainted group called itself Demi-urge and were opposed by Lumi, their siblings made of pure light. Ever since blinking into existence , the two have fought viciously over pockets of space and time in their infinite playground. The Creator was like a child who wanted to be constantly entertained by its playthings. This meant that as long as neither side gained the upper hand, they were able to do as they saw fit. If one side ever dominated over the other, they were promptly reminded of who was truly in control. While their evil brethren created the Illithids, the Lumi gave birth to humanity. Humans were bestowed with free will and the choice to be better. Hopium’s power increased tenfold when compared to dumak due to the unique nature of its users. The Lumi did not impose their will on humanity. Incredible powers beyond most people's wildest imagination were therefore gifted to those that chose to align with them.
Hoping to strike down that which made the Lumi grow in strength, the Demi-urge coerced the Illithids into constantly invading the Earth. Eons of endless war became the norm as the pantheon was deadlocked in a bloody power struggle. After a particularly grizzly battle resulting in the destruction of the Atlantean civilization, the Creator banished the Demi-urge to the endless void. The constant bickering of its playthings was tiring, so the Creator thought it best to separate them. The pantheon was split. The Demi-urge were exiled to different planes of existence. The Lumi inherited the plane of creation, but lost access to magic. They were also forced to wipe humanity's memory of it. From that day on, humans always felt like there was something missing, that the universe offered something more. The Demi-urge were able to retain their magic, but were trapped in an eternal void that stifled all new growth and endlessly caused them pain.
Like all time-outs, this one eventually ended.
After eons apart, the siblings were reunited. But the Demi-urge had not been forgiven for their transgressions. Instead, they snuck back into the plane of existence seemingly under the Creator’s nose. With their magic intact and filled with bloodlust, they urged their creation to march on the Lumi’s home world to unleash a thousand millennia of anger on their brothers and sisters. Magic did not return back to the humans, since the planes of existence had not merged back to their original form with the return of the void denizens. The Lumi had no other option but to intervene. They gave the knowledge of the light and its source to Prometheus. He would be able to bring it back, but at a great cost. Their lessons would prepare the children of the light for another era of war, strife, and suffering.
When Sophia, the Goddess of Light, appeared to Marco Sekniqi and his fellow D.A.P.P. Pilots, she gifted them with superior light magic. Their access to hopium imbued the pilots with the cardinal elements based on their temperament. Earth, air, water, fire, and lightning were represented. The pilots learned the secrets of hopium, the essence of light magic, and the terrors of dumak, its counterpart. After giving a thorough explanation to the pilots and guiding Prometheus on how to merge the planes of existence, she reincarnated herself in human form alongside the demigods of the elements. These demigods would be the Lord Commanders of the Mechavax, and would lead them into battle against the Illithids and their pantheon.
The goddess and her demigods would once again walk amongst mankind, hoping that a final blow could be struck against the Demi-urge before the Creator could intervene. Soon, the memories of the Atlanteans, Mayans, and so many fallen advanced civilizations would collectively come flooding back to the human race. In a race against time and the essence of evil itself, the Lumi, D.A.P.P. Pilots, and the new Mechavax recruits would have to bind the people together if they were to have a chance at beating the horde of Illithids.
